Weekend was awesome!
Went camping in Muskoka. Slept outside with no tent for the first time. It was so nice...we just fell asleep by the fire. THE BEST!
Didn't want to come home, but after being on stage tonight I'm happy to be back in the city.
Note: Bracebridge has the best butter tart place EVER!

Feels High...all the time
So lately I feel like I'm on a life high. It's kinda insane. I honestly walk around in this ridiculously ecstatic mode. I feel like something magical has happened, and somehow I've just been given everything I want on a silver platter. I keep thinking why? WHY ME? Although, now I'm getting to the point of just enjoying it and recognizing that it likely won't last forever.
In other performance news, just got offered a role in a one-woman fringe show and can't take it cuz I'm doing a musical. BOO to having to say no to things :(

Month of Crazy
So I started my month of crazy today and am not quite sure if I'll be able to keep it up..but gonna give it a shot.
This month.
Work: 6a.m. - 10a.m.
Improv: 11a.m. - 5p.m.
Work: 5p.m. - 9p.m.
(Practices) Workshop production of independant play 'I Remember'.
(Practices) Fringe musical 'It's Just a Phase'.
(Practices) Improv Troupe.
Improv show 'Macro Neato'.
Went to bed at 2 and up at 6 today... yikes. Well the next two weeks at least I should sleep normally.

Glengarry Glen Ross = AMAZING
I saw Soul Pepper's rendition of this play this weekend and wow, wow, wow. It was absolutely brilliant. I'd recommend it, except that Saturday evening was the last performance.
Eric Peterson was just brilliant and Michael Simpson brought an amazing energy and physicality to his character.
Definitely going to try to get out to some more Soul Pepper stuff this season and next year when I'm going to school right there! WOO!

Life Update
I figured it's been 6 months so maybe I should post :D
Work
Boring, but 9 - 5 so it allows me to do everything else I want to do.
Theatre
Acting and improv has been taking up about 95% of my time lately.
Finished short form and long form improv course at Bad Dog Theatre. Doing a regular show there now which is pretty good. Come check it out some time...Macro Neato. YAY. Taking a summer intensive for Harold format full time in June.
Started an improv troupe. We're still mostly just practicing but will begin doing shows in June likely.
Also been working on an independant play. FINALLY finished casting last week and should be doing a workshop performance at the end of June.
BIG NEWS: Got into 4/5 theatre schools I applied to. I had originally applied to 7, but decided I didn't really want to go to two of them so bailed on the auditions. After much indecisiveness I've decided to go to George Brown. It has a fantastic reputation for Theatre and is integrated with SoulPepper theatre. It's also more of a conservatory style program so woo! Super excited :D
Family
My 'baby' sister is turning nine in a week and I just can't believe it. I love her so much and always really struggle with the fact that I don't get to see her that often. I'm taking her and her friend out for a morning of shopping while the rest of the family preps a surprise family party for her.
My brother and I are getting a lot closer which is awesome.
Wow this is turning into me just throwing up random facts. Meh.

School Applications
I've begun the process of applying for schools. I'm really torn about whether or not I should have a 'backup' plan since all of the programs I am applying to are extremely competitive. I am doing everything I can right now to get ready for the schools' auditions, but I've got a LONG way to go...
On another note, Paul and Eric went to see Colin Mochrie today and although part of me wishes I went, I am enjoying some much needed down time.
On a last note...can anyone guess what my halloween costume is??

Theatre! Theatre! Theatre!
Okay so maybe I'm a little obsessed. I had an audition for Pride and Prejudice today that I was completely unprepared for but it went alright all things considered. I have to thank Paul for constantly pushing me to go to auditions that I don't feel prepared for.
The classes I've been taking lately are tripping me out though because, at least for one of the classes, it is important that I don't try to 'apply' the technique just yet. I'm loving the class though (John Riven's Meisner technique). It's like nothing I've ever done before.

Going to Chile
So I am heading to Chile tonight. Leaving my house at around 8p.m. and getting in to Santiago at 10:45a.m. NOTE: There is no time difference...long flight.
I am looking forward to seeing Chile, but am nervous about work. I was not given nearly enough time to prepare for what I need to do and it's going to be a week full of pressure.
I'm feeling super mopey right now too because I barely got to see Paul at all today. He went to a Blue Jay's game with his dad and I guess I expected him to be home around 4ish...still not here...which kinda sucks.
On a brighter note, I might be switching out of consulting and into SAP support so that I can be more local. It's perfect timing too because I was accepted into John Riven's Meisner acting classes!! I can't wait :)

The Dungeon Masters
I am scared...Paul somehow talked me into going to a film festival movie about D and D. The thing is I know nothing about the game, have never played it, and have no desire to play it. The movie is completely sold out so hopefully it appeals to non-D and D lovers. Off to the show!

Sailing
I had an awesome weekend last weekend. Went up to my best friend's place in Kingston and went sailing. We were on a small sailboat called a Napper. The wind was really good and the waves were huge. I fell of once :( and he lost his sunglasses, but it was still good fun. We also took a boat out to one of the islands up there and wandered around it. Lots of swimming, eating, and fun!

Blown Away!
So today I was literally being blown around Palm Springs. Since I am working for a wind energy company I am right smack in the middle of a wind tunnel. Today I experienced some of the strongest winds I have ever seen. The air conditioning unit on our office building blew right off. One of the skylights smashed into our building. My windshield cracked...and most of the roads were closed. Craziness!

ACT 4 - rehearsal 3
Sunday rehearsal went well although I was dreading having to fly the next morning :(
To keep it sweet and short, my biggest challenge with this act is understanding where my character switches from being slight nervous/ tense to being in control. Also, there is a huge change that doesn't come about until my second last and last line. Lots of work to be done here!!!!
